The Guard and Cleaner will support the safe, secure, clean, and hygienic operation of the Education Workforce Skills Programme in Logar and Maidan Wardak by protecting office premises and maintaining a healthy working environment for staff and visitors. The position is responsible for basic security, access control, routine cleaning, sanitation, and general office upkeep in accordance with organizational procedures.
Roles & Responsibilities
1- Security and Access Control:
- Monitor and control entry and exit of staff, visitors, vehicles, and materials at the office or assigned duty station in accordance with organizational procedures.
- Ensure that only authorized persons are allowed access to the premises and report any suspicious or unauthorized movement immediately.
2- Premises Safety and Security Monitoring:
- Conduct regular checks of gates, doors, windows, offices, stores, and surrounding areas to help ensure the safety and security of the premises.
- Remain alert at all times and promptly report any unusual activity, theft, damage, safety concern, or security risk to the supervisor.
3- Office Cleaning and Maintenance:
- Clean offices, meeting rooms, hallways, washrooms, kitchen areas, and other assigned spaces on a daily and regular basis in accordance with office standards.
- Sweep, mop, dust, wipe, and maintain floors, desks, furniture, windows, doors, and other surfaces to ensure a clean and orderly environment.
4- Sanitation, Waste Management, and Hygiene Support:
- Ensure that washrooms, handwashing areas, and common-use spaces are kept clean, hygienic, and supplied with basic cleaning and sanitation materials when available.
- Collect office waste regularly, empty bins, dispose of rubbish in designated areas, and help keep the office compound and surrounding areas clean and free from clutter.
5- Protection of Assets and Office Upkeep:
- Help safeguard office assets, furniture, equipment, vehicles, and other project property from theft, loss, misuse, or damage, and support proper upkeep of the office premises.
- Use cleaning materials, tools, and supplies carefully and report any need for replenishment, maintenance issue, or damage observed in the office.
6- Visitor Support, Records, and Duty Discipline:
- Receive visitors respectfully, maintain orderly movement at the entrance, and keep basic records such as visitor logs, incident notes, and shift handover information when required.
- Remain present and attentive during assigned duty hours and carry out all assigned duties in a disciplined, honest, respectful, and responsible manner.
7- Coordination and Emergency Support:
- Coordinate with administration and other staff regarding office cleanliness, safety, visitor management, and emergency situations as directed by the supervisor.
- Support implementation of basic safety and cleanliness measures to help maintain a secure, healthy, and well-organized working environment.
8- Any Other Supportive Duties:
- Support other related security, cleaning, and office support tasks assigned by the supervisor or senior management within the scope of the position.
- Carry out any other relevant duties necessary for maintaining a safe, secure, clean, and well-organized project office.
