Afghanistan Relief and Sustainable Development Organization (ARSDO) is a national, non-profit development organization established in 2017 and registered with the Ministry of Economy of Afghanistan (Registration No. 4190). ARSDO has a strong grassroots presence and extensive experience in designing and implementing community-based development and humanitarian interventions across Afghanistan.

Job Descriptions:

An Internal Auditor examines an organization's financial records, operational processes, and risk management systems to ensure accuracy, regulatory compliance, and efficiency. They identify, report, and provide recommendations on internal control weaknesses, helping management mitigate risks and improve performance. 

Job Requirements:

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct financial, operational, and compliance audits.
  • Develop and implement risk-based audit plans.
  • Evaluate internal control systems and identify potential risks and control gaps.
  • Review financial records, payroll, procurement, inventory, and cash management systems.
  • Perform data analysis and testing to verify accuracy and reliability of financial information.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws, donor requirements, and internal policies and procedures.
  • Assess the effectiveness and efficiency of organizational processes and recommend improvements.
  • Facilitate meetings, periodic status updates, and post audit follow-ups with stakeholders.
  • Identify weaknesses in systems and provide practical recommendations to strengthen controls.
  • Prepare detailed audit reports and present findings and recommendations to management.
  • Follow up on corrective actions to ensure proper implementation of audit recommendations.
  • Support investigations related to fraud, misconduct, or financial irregularities when required.
  • Maintain proper documentation of audit work and ensure confidentiality of information.
  • Coordinate with different departments during audit assignments and provide advisory support when needed.
  • Any other tasks or special assignments given by the Supervisor

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of relevant work experience (NGO experience preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of auditing standards and internal controls.
  • Good understanding of donor compliance requirements.
  • Full professional proficiency in English language (both written and spoken).
  • Excellent knowledge of computer applications, including MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and other relevant software.
  • Excellent analytical and report-writing skills.
  • High level of integrity and professionalism.
