Job Descriptions:

Logistics & Clearance Specialist:

We are looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Logistics Handler to oversee the entire clearance lifecycle for our gemstone shipments. Your core responsibility will be to ensure the smooth, legal, and efficient movement of goods from our LAB to international destinations, Customs, and Ministry of Mines regulations. You will be the critical link between our operations, government authorities, and freight forwarders.

Logistics & Clearance Specialist Duties & Responsibilities:

Cargo & Logistics Management:
- Plan, coordinate, and execute the logistics for gemstone and mineral shipments (air & sea freight).
- Arrange secure packing, crating, insurance, and transportation for high-value, sensitive cargo.
- Liaise with freight forwarders, airlines, shipping lines, and courier services.
- Ensure strict adherence to safety and security protocols throughout the supply chain.
- Track shipments and provide real-time updates to internal stakeholders.
Customs Clearance & Compliance:
- Prepare, verify, and submit all required customs documentation (Invoice, Packing List, Certificate of Origin, HS Code classification).
- Handle import and export customs clearance processes smoothly and efficiently.
- Stay updated on changes in customs regulations, tariffs, and trade agreements.
- Resolve any customs-related issues, delays, or queries promptly.
Ministry & Regulatory Clearances:
- Manage the end-to-end process of obtaining mandatory pre- and post-shipment approvals.
- Liaise directly with the Ministry of Mines, Gem & Jewellery authorities, and Export Promotion Bureaus.
- Secure necessary permits, licenses, and certificates (e.g., export licenses, mining origin certificates).
- Maintain excellent working relationships with government and regulatory officials.
Documentation & Record Keeping:
- Maintain impeccable, audit-ready records of all shipments, clearances, permits, and correspondence.
- Ensure all documentation is accurate, complete, and filed systematically.
- Prepare and analyze logistics cost reports.

Job Requirements:

Required Qualifications & Experience:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International Trade, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of direct, hands-on experience in logistics and customs clearance, specifically within the gemstone, mineral, precious metals, or high-value luxury goods sector.
Non-Negotiable Expertise:
- In-depth knowledge of HS Code classification for gemstones and minerals.
- Proven track record of successfully obtaining clearances from Mining/Geology Ministries and related state agencies.
- Strong existing network and relationships with customs officials and regulatory bodies is a significant advantage.
Skills:
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
- Strong problem-solving and negotiation skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. English, Pashto, Dari, Urdu)
- High level of integrity and discretion when handling confidential and high-value materials.
- Proficiency in logistics software and MS Office.
