Context:

Under the direct supervision of the Durable Solutions Coordination Officer and working closely with the Area-Based Response team, the successful candidate will contribute to roll out of Durable Solutions Mainstreaming and Capacity Building Trainings and will be responsible to provide programmatic and administrative support to the IOM Resilience and Solutions unit. He/she will perform the following duties.

Job Descriptions:

 

  1. Support the Durable Solutions Coordination officer to facilitate  durable solutions is mainstreamed in strategies, programmes, activities, reports and evaluations.
  2. Assist to identify learning needs and develop innovative ways to engage with programmes to build skills and knowledge on durable solutions mainstreaming.
  3. Assist the Durable Solutions Coordination Officer in coordinating  and delivering durable solutions capacity building initiatives and supporting multi-sectoral programme design.
  4. Perform administrative tasks related to mainstreaming activities, including preparing purchase requests, and requests for payment.
  5. Maintain close coordination with and provide support to relevant programmes, including supporting the Durable Solutions Coordination Officer to run monthly meeting, with programmes and assisting in the identification and incorporation of durable solutions core indicators in coordination with the M&E unit.
  6. Provide the Resilience and Solutions unit with programmatic support, including report writing, monitoring and critical analysis of project results.
  7. Support the Durable Solutions Coordination Officer to analyze data and contribute to resilience and solutions focused assessments. Draft correspondence, reports, briefing notes, graphics, statistical tables, presentations, meeting minutes, and other forms of documentation.
  8. Assist the Durable Solutions Coordination Officer to develop press releases, brochures, communication materials, public information, and monitoring and evaluation reports.
  9. Undertake duty travel when necessary.
  10. Perform such other duties as may be assigned.

Education

    • Bachelor’s degree in Administration, Human Resources, Law, Social Sciences, Political Sciences, journalist, or related fields from an accredited academic institution with four  years of relevant professional experience.

Or

    • High School diploma with (6) six years of relevant professional experience.

Experience

    • Experience writing technical requirements documents, translating/planning specifications to technical briefs for data capture/analysis, and compiling diverse datasets.
    • Experience in project monitoring and evaluation.
    • Prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations, non-government or government institutions/organization in a multi-cultural setting
    • Proven experience in interagency coordination. 
    • Proven experience delivering capacity building training in a humanitarian or development context. 
    • Expert knowledge of MS office and advanced data science and/or statistical skills including knowledge of database management, statistical and project management.

Languages

  • For all Applicants, fluency in English is required (oral and written).
  • Working knowledge of Pashto or Dari is required.
  • Fluency in all national language(s) are highly advantages.
