The Kunduz Rehabilitation Agency (KRA), in partnership with the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations, is implementing the project "Strengthening Access to Essential Food Security and Health Services (Support for Afghan People) (OSRO/AFG/155/ASB)." This initiative aims to improve food security and resilience among vulnerable households in Kunduz province. It addresses acute food insecurity caused by prolonged drought, economic instability, and limited agricultural productivity. The project provides immediate food assistance, agricultural inputs, livestock support, and capacity-building activities to enhance livelihoods and food and nutrition security for highly vulnerable populations, including returnees and their host communities.
The Project Manager will be responsible for leading project implementation, ensuring the timely delivery of outputs and outcomes, managing project resources, supervising staff, and coordinating with FAO, relevant stakeholders, and beneficiaries. The role ensures full compliance with project objectives, FAO standards, and operational procedures.

KRA is seeking a qualified Project Manager for the FAO Food Security Project will oversee the planning, implementation, and monitoring of project activities aimed at enhancing food security in the designated province (Kunduz). The role involves supervising daily operations, ensuring project objectives are met, and reporting on progress to stakeholders. The Project Manager will collaborate closely with the Program Director and other team members to achieve project goals effectively.
Manage project budgets by ensuring accurate allocation, effective utilization, and cost efficiency.
Oversee financial documentation and ensure the timely submission of financial reports, while providing support for audits conducted by FAO and third-party monitors.
Ensure full compliance with procurement procedures, cost-sharing arrangements, and financial policies and standards.
Prepare and submit weekly and monthly progress reports that include detailed activity updates and photographic evidence.
Lead the preparation of the Final Project Report, which encompasses financial expenditures, lessons learned, challenges, and at least three human-interest stories.
Maintain complete and well-organized project records, including financial documents, training materials, monitoring data, and supporting evidence.
Utilize appropriate monitoring and evaluation tools and methodologies to effectively track project outputs, outcomes, and indicators.
Implement functional accountability mechanisms that provide beneficiaries with accessible complaints, feedback, and response systems.
Coordinate closely with FAO and third-party monitors during monitoring visits, reviews, and evaluations to ensure comprehensive oversight and assessment of project performance
