About Future Generations Afghanistan:

Future Generations (FG) is the collective name for an international network of non-governmental organizations including FG Country Programs in Asia and Africa, Future Generations University (FGU) and its alumni in 17 countries, academia, and individual’s experts. The original charitable organization, Future Generations, was established in 1992 for the purpose of learning from, and building upon the world’s most successful examples of community empowerment and social change. It is complemented by the Future Generations Graduate School (Future Generations University) in 2006 in the State of West Virginia with authorization to provide a Master's Degree in Applied Community Change focus on Conservation and Peace building.  The Future Generations Afghanistan (FGA) established in May 2002 and obtained its registration certificate from Ministry of Economy, Government of Afghanistan in October 2005.  Since 2007, FGA has been operational in Eastern Afghanistan, and successfully completed development and humanitarian programs in Nangarhar, Laghman , Kunar, Nuristan, Logar, Wardak, Nimruz, Herat, Kanadahar, Badghis, Panjshir and Bamyan Provinces

Job Descriptions:

The M&E Specialist is responsible for planning, implementing, and coordinating all monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning activities across the project, covering both Paktika and Ghazni provinces. The role includes developing M&E tools, tracking progress against indicators, conducting field monitoring visits, verifying beneficiaries, ensuring data quality, maintaining project databases, and preparing analytical reports for management and donors. The specialist also supports baseline and endline assessments, facilitates lessons-learned exercises, strengthens accountability mechanisms, and builds the capacity of project and field staff on M&E standards, ensuring evidence-based decision-making and compliance with donor requirements.

Job Requirements:
  • Responsible to keep active and functional the M&E section to ensure project is effective implemented
  • Develop M&E specific Tools to enable to capture all relevant data to assess the project progress toward the achieving output, outcome and impact indicators with the use of diversified data collection method
  • responsible for soliciting beneficiary profile survey, analyze and clean it and share with program team for further communication with donor agencies
  • Travel to field, collect best practices, write success stories to be reflected in FGA’s website and with donor agencies
  • Conduct independently field monitoring mission, work with field staff, provide on the job monitoring training and feedback and develop M&E reports
  • Manage to produce monthly or bimonthly FGA activities bulletin   for visibility and representation poster
  • Guide FGA’s M&E staff to prepare field monitoring report and help them to disseminate for feedback
  • Control and visit all project related process and steps particularly the project implementation at the community level
  •  Work closely with project team, provide feedback on timely manner
  • Conduct M&E need identification survey, identify gaps and develop required M&E related documents, strategy and capacity gap
  • Develop appropriate Training package in consultation with Relief program section and overall FGA programs implementation

Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge and practical experience in M&E frameworks, result-based FGA management, logical frameworks, and project monitoring methodologies.
  • Proficiency in M&E tools and software such as Kobo Toolbox, ODK, CommCare, Excel, and Power BI for data collection, management, and analysis.
  • Experience in preparing bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual M&E reports for management and donors, including analysis of project outcomes and impact.
  • Ability to conduct frequent field visits to monitor project activities, verify beneficiaries, and assess outcomes across Paktika and Ghazni provinces.
  • Demonstrated ability to monitor and evaluate multi-sectoral interventions, including agriculture, MSME development, Cash for Work (CFW) programs, capacity-building initiatives, and TEVTs training programs.
  • Experience in identifying, documenting, and responding to Grievance Redress Mechanism (GRM) cases, ensuring accountability and transparency in all project activities.
