Job Descriptions:

The IT Assistant helps support daily technology needs, ensuring that computers, software, and networks run smoothly. This role involves troubleshooting basic issues, assisting users, and maintaining devices under the guidance of senior IT staff.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support to staff for hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Assist in installing, configuring, and maintaining computers, printers, and other IT equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve IT problems in a timely manner.
  • Support staff in using office software, communication tools, and IT systems.
  • Assist in maintaining the organization’s network infrastructure (LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi).
  • Monitor system performance, backups, and security protocols.
  • Assist in managing user accounts, passwords, and access permissions.
  • Providing IT related training to all staff
  • Ensure antivirus software and other security measures are updated regularly.
  • Support the IT Officer in backing up organizational data regularly.
  • Ensure proper data storage, file management, and confidentiality.
  • Assist in implementing data protection measures in line with organizational policies.
  • Maintain inventory of IT equipment, software licenses, and accessories.
  • Keep records of IT requests, incidents, and solutions provided.
  • Assist in preparing reports on IT operations and system usage.
  • Assist in deploying new software, tools, or systems as required.
  • Participate in IT-related training for staff and end-users.
  • Support the development of IT manuals, guidelines, and SOPs.
  • Ensure that the computers, including internet, printers, photocopy machine, camera remain fully functional for all users on a daily basis.
  • Ensure that the company laptops, desktop and network resources are protected from malicious virus attacks and deploy countermeasures
  • Manage all equipment and applications associated with electronic mail.
  • Installation and troubleshooting of office Computers, Hardware and Software
  • Any other task assign by line manager

Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Minimum 3–4 years of experience in IT support, preferably in an NGO or humanitarian organization.
  • Knowledge of Windows, MS Office, networking, and basic troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with IT hardware, printers, routers, and antivirus software.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Good organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Oral and written fluency in (English, Dari, Pashto)
