Position Summary
The General Manager & Construction Supervisor oversees all construction activities while also supporting engineering, planning, and project coordination. This role requires strong leadership and advanced technical skills, including the ability to use engineering software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Primavera. The candidate will ensure projects are executed safely, efficiently, within budget, and according to design specifications.
Key Responsibilities
1. Leadership & Management
- Lead and manage construction teams, site supervisors, foremen, and subcontractors.
- Assign tasks, monitor progress, and ensure high-quality workmanship.
- Train and mentor staff on technical and safety standards.
2. Engineering & Technical Duties
- Use AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Primavera for planning, design review, scheduling, and project coordination.
- Review and interpret engineering drawings, shop drawings, and construction plans.
- Provide technical input during design, fabrication, and installation phases.
- Identify engineering issues and propose practical, cost-effective solutions.
3. Project Oversight
- Manage day-to-day construction activities and ensure adherence to project schedules.
- Prepare detailed project schedules using Primavera (P6).
- Coordinate with engineering, drafting, and fabrication teams to ensure accuracy and timely delivery.
- Conduct regular site inspections to track progress and verify compliance with specifications.
4. Operational & Administrative Tasks
- Prepare site reports, progress updates, and documentation for management.
- Assist in budgeting, cost control, and forecast planning.
5. Quality Control & Safety
- Enforce company safety policies and conduct toolbox talks and site safety audits.
- Ensure all construction work meets technical standards and QA/QC requirements.
- Implement corrective measures to address site issues or deficiencies.
