Senior Geologist (Economic Geologist, Tectonic Geologist, Petrologist, Mining Specialist)
MGM Mining invites experienced and motivated professionals to join our dynamic geological team. We are currently seeking Senior Geologists with expertise in Economic Geology, Tectonic Geology, Petrology, and Mining to contribute to our exploration and development projects across Afghanistan.
Position Clarifications
Economic Geologists
Economic Geologists are responsible for identifying, evaluating, and developing mineral resources with commercial potential. They analyze geological, geochemical, and geophysical characteristics to assess ore quality, resource potential, and economic viability. Their expertise bridges the gap between geological science and the economic realities of mineral development, supporting sound investment and sustainable resource management.
Tectonic Geologists
Tectonic Geologists study the Earth’s structural framework and tectonic evolution to understand the forces shaping mineralization and rock deformation. They examine faults, folds, and plate interactions to interpret stress regimes and tectonic settings that control ore deposit formation. Their work provides critical insights for regional exploration, geological mapping, and seismic risk assessment.
Petrologists
Petrologists investigate the origin, composition, and transformation of rocks to interpret the physical and chemical processes behind their formation. By integrating petrographic, geochemical, and mineralogical analyses, they provide essential data on the genesis of ore-bearing rocks and the magmatic or metamorphic conditions influencing mineralization. Their research enhances exploration models and geological accuracy.
Mining Geologists
Mining Geologists oversee exploration and production operations at active mining sites. They plan and supervise drilling, ensure precise ore-grade control, and conduct sampling and core logging. Their geological assessments help optimize extraction efficiency while ensuring environmental compliance and operational safety. They work closely with engineers and technical teams to support sustainable and economically viable mining operations.
