Kandahar Refugee Organization (KRO) is a national, non-political, non-profit, and non-governmental organization dedicated to addressing the humanitarian and rehabilitation needs of Afghanistan. Led by Afghans, KRO is committed to fostering local economic development, promoting gender equality, and building sustainable capacity within communities. With a specialized network across multiple provinces, KRO effectively designs and implements programs in critical areas such as emergency response, WASH, food security and livelihoods, agriculture, nutrition, education, capacity building, disaster management, resettlement, and reintegration.

• Maintain open communication channels with field staff to gather timely data on program activities and outputs.
• Coordinate with the program team to compile weekly and monthly work plans and progress updates.
• Assist the Program Manager during emergency responses by organizing information flow and documentation.
• Document and report program developments through reports, photographs, and success stories.
• Prepare, write, and edit clear, concise reports and briefs (weekly, monthly) for donors.
• Support the preparation of grant proposals and progress reports by providing relevant data and narratives.
• Collaborate with the Monitoring & Evaluation team to ensure accurate data collection and compliance with reporting guidelines.
• Track compliance with KRO’s reporting standards and donor requirements; suggest improvements to reporting processes.

• Maintain an organized database of reports, forms, and reference documents for the program.

•  Facilitate internal meetings by taking minutes and following up on action items.

• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism,Business Administration, International Development, Social Sciences, or a related field.
• Proven experience (2+ years) in report writing, communications.
• Exceptional writing and editing skills in English; ability to produce clear and engaging written materials.
• Strong data management and analytical skills; comfortable working with quantitative and qualitative information.
• Good understanding of project management.
• Excellent interpersonal and coordination skills; able to liaise effectively with staff, partners, and stakeholders.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with data analysis tools.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
• Flexibility and cultural sensitivity to work in challenging settings.
