Clinical Competencies:
• Diagnose and manage common communicable and non-communicable diseases, manage medical emergencies (shock, trauma, obstetric emergencies) before referral.
• Able to manage Wound suturing, IV access, catheterization, minor surgical procedures.
• Rational Prescribing: Correct use of essential medicines and adherence to treatment guidelines.
• Be able to control the Infection Prevention (IPC): Hand hygiene, safe injection, sterilization practices.
Public Health Competencies
• Disease Surveillance: Identify and report outbreaks, monitor trends of priority diseases.
• Referral System Knowledge: Recognize limits of BHC care and coordinate timely referrals to higher-level facilities.
Managerial & Administrative Competencies
• Health Information Management: Maintain accurate patient records, HMIS forms, and reporting to district/provincial health authorities.
• Resource Management: Efficient use of medicines, equipment, and supplies in a resource-limited setting.
• Team Supervision: Guide nurses, midwives, vaccinators, and CHWs;
support capacity building
