Job Descriptions:

Position Summary

The Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Specialist will play a key role in designing, implementing, and managing M&E systems for a variety of development and humanitarian programs. The Specialist will provide technical expertise in data collection, analysis, reporting, and learning to ensure evidence-based decision-making. This position requires strong analytical skills, experience with both qualitative and quantitative methodologies, and the ability to deliver high-quality outputs under tight deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and Implementation
    • Develop and implement comprehensive M&E frameworks, methodologies, and tools for diverse projects.
    • Ensure M&E systems are aligned with client requirements, donor guidelines, and international best practices.
  • Data Collection and Analysis
    • Lead the design and application of quantitative and qualitative data collection methods.
    • Conduct advanced data analysis using software such as SPSS, Excel, Power BI, and Atlas.ti.
    • Ensure accuracy, reliability, and validity of data.
  • Reporting and Documentation
    • Produce high-quality analytical, summative, and evaluation reports.
    • Document lessons learned and best practices for dissemination to stakeholders.
    • Translate complex findings into clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Capacity Building and Technical Support
    • Provide training and technical support to project teams and partners on M&E systems and tools.
    • Strengthen organizational capacity for results-based management and adaptive learning.
  • Research and Evaluation
    • Design and conduct research, assessments, and evaluations across multiple sectors.
  • Collaboration and Representation
    • Engage with clients, donors, and partner organizations to ensure alignment on M&E objectives.
    • Represent the firm at technical meetings, workshops, and conferences.
Job Requirements:
  • Master’s degree or higher in Monitoring and Evaluation, Development Studies, Social Sciences, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible professional experience in Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E).

  • Demonstrated experience in M&E with consulting firms and development organizations..

  • Proven expertise in designing, implementing, and managing M&E systems, methodologies, tools, techniques, and processes.

  • Strong track record of producing high-quality analytical, summative, and evidence-based reports.

  • Solid understanding of current M&E trends, frameworks, and practices within development organizations.

  • Proficiency in quantitative data analysis using software such as SPSS, Microsoft Excel, and Power BI.

  • Skilled in qualitative data collection and analysis, with experience using tools such as Atlas.ti.

  • Exceptional analytical, writing, and presentation skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information.

  • Demonstrated ability to document, disseminate, and translate findings into actionable recommendations.

  • Experience conducting research, assessments, and evaluations.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks effectively.

  • Commitment to promoting and upholding MgtWell’s mission, values, and objectives.

  • Fluency in English, Pashto, and Dari (written and spoken).

  • Flexibility and willingness to work additional hours when required.
