Is responsible for ensuring the overall implementation of activities to monitor and respond to the protection/human rights situation of people affected in the area of concern, while meeting quality standards.
Supervise protection monitor teams’ day to day work, providing support in conducting mobile field visits to villages, camps and other urban settlements, assessing the security situation and facilitating access whenever needed.

Tasks
- In collaboration with the Protection Monitors support the development of the protection monitoring methodology and analysis
- Under the superivision of the Project Manager to lead all day-to-day protection monitoring activities ensuring qualitative and timely planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation
- Facilitate access to affected communities and establish nurturing relationships with key stakeholders, including religious, local and tribal leaders
- Conduct regular field participatory protection monitoring activities, using an age, gender and diversity approach, in order to fully understand protection concerns and priorities
- Compile the protection cases identified by the teams to be referred to the Case Worker Team Leader
- Enhance and facilitate discussion on main protection concerns and response capacity within the displaced and the host communities with the Technical manager - Protection
- Ensure monthly / quarterly trend reports are drafted based on Protection Risks and trends identified through Protection Monitoring
- In cooperation with the Technical manager - Protection build the capacity of Protection Monitors in the programmatic areas of concern, i.e. identification of cases, data collection methods etc.
- Ensure and support the effective identification and referral of vulnerable individuals for case management support and/or additional relevant services available and advise on type of assistance
- Maintain regular and positive collaboration with the colleagues to harmonize approaches and methodologies of response, share challenges and best practices and ensure that protection is mainstreamed
- Submit weekly, monthly and quarterly activity plans, analysis and quality reports with quantitative and qualitative information related to the activities according to INTERSOS and donor requirements ensuring that reports are of a high quality and submitted on time
- Represent the organization at general coordination working groups and clusters with donors, humanitarian actors and local authorities, when requested
