About AWEC:

AWEC is a non-political, non-profit, woman-headed national organization established in 1991 by a group of educated Afghan women in exile, who rallied together to address the lack of facilities for Afghan refugees in Islamabad and eventually Peshawar, in Pakistan. AWEC has always been involved in advocacy and awareness-raising for women and children’s rights while providing services to those who frequently fall through safety nets. In recent years, one of AWEC’s core activities has been to support women through mobilizing Afghans, from local communities to political elites, towards the goal of reducing and eventually eliminating violence against women.

Job Descriptions:

Objective,

Support project initiatives by including women, adolescent girls, and marginalized communities in the project coverage area. The initiatives include all forms of training, technical assistance, provision of grants, kits, agriculture development initiatives, market linkages, agribusiness development, and effective steps towards the reduction of climate change effects. 

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Undertake systematic analysis of inclusion perspective (gender ability and ethnic minorities)
  • Promote innovative initiatives on affirmative action in the project
  • Analyze risks and opportunities during the project implementation phase and provide better risk reduction measures in inclusion aspects
  • Strengthening engagement in diverse communities and skill in communicating with a diverse population in the project
  • Adhering to accountability to affected people policies for engaging targeted beneficiaries
  • Develop indicators and guidelines for integrating social inclusion aspects into the project
  • Develop knowledge products and collaborate with other thematic advice of AWEC where required.
  • Facilitate meetings with governmental agencies, and Shuras for project activities at the provincial level.
  • Promote and support the active participation of people with Disabilities and females
  • Contributes to the development of context analysis with her/his sectorial scope for engaging targeted beneficiary
  • Develop a plan for reaching targeted beneficiaries within specified requirements to be included in the project activities
  • Identifies & and develops local partnerships with relevant stakeholders and where AWEC is willing to have awareness sessions and activities.
  • Assisting the Project team in developing monthly and quarterly reports
  • Any other task assigned by the supervisor and AWEC’s senior management.
Job Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS

  • University degree or diploma in social science with at least 5 years’ experience in the field.
  • Minimum three years’ experience in managing and implementing Water and Sanitation programs in war-affected areas or rural and remote environments
  • Familiarity with private, and multi-lateral donors
  • Act as a focal point for WASH issues and liaise with relevant actors in different stages of WASH at the provincial level.
  • Familiar with Interventions, curriculum, and methodologies utilized in Reaching people with disabilities
  • Strong networking, and communication skills
  • Ability to work in unstable insecurity environments and tight schedules
  • Ability to adapt to changing requirements
  • Ability to work independently and in a team
  • Fluency in English
