 HealthNet TPO in Afghanistan aims to improve the health status of the people in Afghanistan by supporting the local communities and the Government of Afghanistan in the development of a sustainable health care system.  HealthNet TPO is working in Afghanistan since 1994, implementing integrated health projects managed mainly by national staff and supported technically by expatriate staff from the headquarter office. HealthNet TPO Afghanistan is providing Primary Health Care, Mental Health and psychosocial services, fighting malaria and supporting Mother & Child Health Care in terms of providing training for Community Midwifes and to conduct operation research. Health Net TPO is currently implementing projects in 22 provinces and the major program it implements are Malaria Control program,SEHATMANDI projects in four provinces, nutrition,  Mental Health and Psychosocial program through a community system strengthening approach.

Job Descriptions:
  • Implement the plan of action defined by program, Project Manager and Training Coordinator.
  • Active participation in the development or contextualization process and preparation of curriculum, training checklist and workshop.
  • Conducts training sessions according to plan and Provides training for trainees on a scheduled basis
  • Consider appropriate training methodology during facilitation for better understanding of participants.
  • Cooperates with master trainers, training coordinator and other staff of HN TPO according to policy.
  • Establish friendship environment of training for participants to feel free to share their ideas.
  • To help and support Trainees regarding technical issues and give on the job training when needed.
  • Maintains supportive supervision sessions conjointly with provincial mental health focal person from medical doctors working at CHCs in related catchment area for improvement of MHPS quality services.   
  • To know the use of checklist and use it appropriately. 
  • Provides teaching and training materials for planned trainings and workshops.
  • Reviews the guidelines and revise them in case of needs (Related Organization Guidelines).
  • To translate Pashto and Dari to English and vice versa
  • To use teaching and training materials and arrange the classroom according to standards and norm of trainings.
  • To attend and take active participation in all trainings and workshops to which you are invited.
  • To participate in staff and other relevant meetings.
  • To evaluate the course and participants separately according to each training rules.
  • To prepare training and monthly activity report and submit it to training coordinator on time.
  • To keep safe and proper usage of projector, camera, computers and other training materials.
  • Participate and leading the internal committees according to HSCEAB standard.
  • Participate in the internal assessment of program and finding the gaps and make action plan for improvement and reported.
  • He/She is responsible for the assigned task by your supervisor.
  • To help training coordinator for quarterly training plans and reports.
  • Interacts with staff and students in a professional and ethical manner.
  • To do and follow up any task given by line managers.
Job Requirements:
  • Graduated from  recognized medical faculty and specialization in psychiatry.
  • Must have at least 3 years’ experience in the MHPSS Training and supervision field.
  • Good command of English, Fluent in Dari and Pashto both verbally and written
  • To have good teaching and supervision skills
  • To have good translation skill.
  • To have good and effective communication skill.
  • Computer skills (Ms Office: word and excel, Power point, internet) is essential
  • Team player, capacity builder, flexible in working hours
  • Honest and trustworthy
  • Having reporting skills
  • Able to work under pressure and meet the deadlines
  • To having positive attitude.
  • Able to travel to the provinces to relevant Health Facilities for supportive supervision of relevant medical doctors
  • To be an Afghan National
