Duties and Responsibilities:
• Provide individual and group psychosocial counselling to the project beneficiaries in at health facility to target clients.
• Respond to distressed beneficiary in a non-threatening manner and attempt to understand the source of their discomfort
• help the beneficiary manage their emotions through de-escalation techniques
• Prepare and maintain the beneficiary records and maintain accurate records of the beneficiary’s cases, keep all case documents locked/protected and confidential;
• Work with the beneficiary’s families and careers, to help to educate them and the beneficiary about their mental health problems.
• visit the beneficiary in their home to monitor progress and carry out risk assessments with regard to their safety and welfare
• Provide psychoeducation sessions for MHPSS beneficiary and their respective families
• Ensure all aspects of work are in line with MHPSS intervention guidelines and Use the MoPH approved MHPSS guideline for the counselling.
• Responsible for reporting and communication of progress and achievement of the specific assigned tasks.
• Inform the line manager if any professional problems encountered
• Conduct all duties in a professional manner following MHPSS guideline.
• Developing and maintaining a service mapping (through referral questionnaire for specialized service providers) and an efficient referral pathway.
• Undertake any other task assigned by line supervisor.
