Job Descriptions:

Job Purpose

  1. To provide accurate care and implement the medical orders given by the attending doctor for clients/patients visiting the hospital.
  2. To actively and properly participate in professional training and educational programs.

Work Area: Setting, monitoring, supervising, and executing the medical orders given by the attending doctor for inpatients and outpatients services.

Responsibilities:

  • To perform duties for the outpatient settings, including the child modules educational programs.
  • To collect data and information about inpatient/outpatients discharged and recovered clients and its referral to drug demand reduction programs in Kabul city.
  • To carry out the whole day shift program regularly working with drug addicted women and children’s clients in the targeted area.
  • To actively participate in the design and implementation of various out patients service and capacity building training for technical employees of the project.
  • To organize life skills sessions for outpatients clients during the treatment and discharge phase of the clients. (homebased services)
  • To regularly enhance the professional knowledge, skills and practices especially on health guidelines (SOPs) and professional relevant activities.
  • To contribute to enhancing the capacity of junior technical employees in outpatient settings.
  • To actively participate in the cleanliness and hygiene of the outpatients practice area.
  • To regularly visit the targeted area with the medical team assisting the doctors and program coordinator
  • To perform other tasks assigned by the program coordinator.
Job Requirements:

Job Requirements/Qualifications

  • The candidate must be a midwife/Nurse who graduated from a recognized midwifery institute.
  • The candidate should have 3 years’ experience in similar health projects with international or national NGOs.
  • Familiarity with HMIS and various data collection tools.
  • Good knowledge and experience in midwifery/nursing activities.
  • Good knowledge and experience of health and child module program delivery.
  • Capacity to perform effectively in under pressure and harsh conditions; ability to handle confidential and environmental issues.
  • Excellent capacity development and teamwork skills; cross-cultural and gender sensitivity.
  • The candidate will be able to travel to hard-to-reach districts of Kabul province (if needed).
  • The candidate will have good ethical and communication skills.
  • The candidate should fluently speak Dari, Pashto, and English is an asset.
