Job Summary:
The Afghanistan Integrated Youth Activity's Communications Officer will play a crucial role in supporting CARE’s mission in Afghanistan by producing high-quality communication products that fulfill donor visibility requirements, enhancing visibility of the project and ensuring effective communication with various stakeholders, including donors, government entities, communities, and the media. Communication activities will be undertaken in compliance with the AIYA Branding Strategy & Marking Plan, USAID Graphic Standards Manual and CARE's branding guidelines.
Job Responsibilities:
Content Creation and Social Media Management:
1) Develop accurate, high-quality communication materials for both media and internal use, keeping stakeholders informed and engaged.
2) Create compelling content for social media platforms that align with AIYA's branding and marking strategy and CARE’s digital & public media strategy.
3) Produce a variety of communication materials, including audio/visual content, case stories, project briefs, flyers, and newsletters.
4) Create and Implement a Social Media Strategy & Plan for AIYA's Social Media handles.
Field Engagement and Coordination:
1) Travel to project sites to gather and develop communication products that highlight CARE’s impact.
2) Collect testimonies and case studies from program participants to enrich communication outputs.
3) Work closely with AIYA's Communication Working group under the leadership of Media and Communication Advisor to develop and disseminate quality communication materials for internal and external audiences.
4) Assist in the preparation of communication materials for emergency responses, ensuring timely dissemination of relevant information.
Visibility and Branding:
1) Ensure compliance with visibility and branding commitments for AIYA project in accordance with contractual obligations.
2) Support the development and implementation of annual integrated communication and visibility plans.
Documentation and Reporting:
1) Maintain effective documentation of lessons learned, case studies, and stories to support advocacy and reporting efforts.
2) Develop and manage internal information systems to promote communication objectives.
Miscellaneous
1) Assist project teams with translation of documents such as letters, MoUs, subtitles, social media posts and reports as needed.
2) Other tasks assigned by the Media and Communication Advisor.
