General Position Summary:
The medical director is responsible for OPD consultation, IPD care of the patients and follow up of standard MoPH treatment and preventive guidelines, maintain proper registration filling system within provincial hospital.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
General Management responsibilities
Organize and coordinate medical services and services provided by other professionals as they relate to patient care (i.e. ensure the availability of drugs and expendables materials).
2. Oversee evaluation and management of clinical practices within the department and give advice to the hospital director to improve the practices and guarantee the medical quality of the facility
3. Participate in decision making to improve the quality of medical care during Hospital Management Board (HMB)
4. Develop and implement policies, procedures and best practices and makes sure that they are in compliance with national laws and MoPH guidelines.
5. Ensure that the HMIS data are properly collected according to MoPH guidelines and that the official HMIS files are correctly filled. Analyzes hospital HMIS data on monthly basis and develop action plan for improvement.
6. Make sure that all medical providers employed possess the necessary credentials, education, and experience to offer care to patients.
7. Participate in the development and conduct of in-service training programs.
8. Prepare duty rosters for all doctors in consultation with hospital director
9. Participate in workshops and all medical meetings conducted by RI
10. Participate in morning report on regular basis and prepare report on monthly basis
11. Lead and manage all technical staff of the hospital for improvement of skills and work progress.
12. Ensure proper care of patient and build an improved culture of collaboration among specialists, primary care physicians, nurses, and others
13. Provide all needed assistance and facilities within the available resources to the patients.
14. Review timely oversights and documentation of patient care by respective units and nurses involved.
15. Supervise and provide on the job training on technical issues to hospital technical staff.
16. Oversee guidelines, protocols and standards implementation and progress.
17. Develop action plan against internal and external monitoring feedback and follow up.
18. Participate on weekly basis in clinical conferences to review active cases.
19. Coordinate on-call duty and facilitate 24 hours coverage with the assigned team, seven days a week.
20. Make sure the medical data is recorded as per MOPH standard in the hospital
21. Participate in daily morning visit from different section of the hospital.
22. Attend hospital management board meetings and other ad hoc meetings.
23. Provide capacity building facilities for hospital doctors.
24. Follow established departmental policies, procedures and objectives, continuous quality improvement initiative, safety environmental and infection prevention standards.
25. Monitor and supervise the progress of trainings, EPI, nutrition, community health development, laboratory and pharmacy. Report problems to the Hospital Director.
26. Ensure that active supportive supervision and monitoring are organized in all part of the hospital and that corrective actions taken to address weaknesses.
