Job Summary:
The Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) Specialist is responsible for providing technical expertise, leadership, and support to programs that promote sexual and reproductive health and rights. This role involves developing and implementing strategies, policies, and programs to ensure equitable access to SRHR services, information, and education, particularly for vulnerable populations.
Key responsibilities include conducting needs assessments, providing capacity building and training, advocating for SRHR policies, and coordinating with stakeholders such as government agencies, healthcare providers, and community organizations. The SRHR Specialist will also monitor program outcomes, ensure compliance with international standards, and identify opportunities for program improvement and innovation.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The SRHR will be responsible for:
- Technical Assistance, Implementation & Monitoring:
- Lead the implementation and monitoring of the SRHR components of the project, ensuring alignment with the Detailed Implementation Plan (DIP) and project objectives.
- Provide technical guidance for the development, implementation, and evaluation of SRHR activities, ensuring adherence to organizational standards and donor requirements.
- Actively participate in GBV Cluster and Afghanistan Protection Cluster meetings, representing War Child's SRHR programming, and share relevant updates or data with partners and stakeholders.
- Training and Capacity Building:
- Conduct SRHR methodology training for project staff and provide ongoing technical support for community-level rollout.
- Develop and finalize standard training packages and tools, ensuring continuous improvement through feedback and consultation with the Program Manager and other relevant units.
- Organize and deliver ToT sessions for staff and beneficiaries to build capacity on SRHR-related topics.
- Conduct regular field visits (3–4 per month) to monitor program activities, provide technical support to field teams, and submit detailed reports to the supervisor.
- Quality Assurance:
- Oversee the development and refinement of SRHR training manuals, tools, and methodologies to maintain quality and relevance.
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting, including donor-required data and ad hoc information requests, to meet organizational and donor standards.
- Collaboration and Reporting:
- Collaborate closely with project teams to ensure SRHR interventions are integrated and effectively delivered.
- Contribute to the preparation of comprehensive donor reports, providing necessary inputs and data.
- Perform other relevant duties as assigned by the Project Manager or War Child Management to support the overall success of the project.
