Job Purpose:
The MHPSS project manager supports, monitors, and evaluates the execution of the assigned project(s) which involves effectively managing and reporting on the project’s objectives, indicators, timeframe, and budget. In close coordination with the relevant department and bodies, the project manager is responsible for recruitment, capacity building of staff, quality assurance, coordination and liaison with stakeholders and local communities on proper and smooth implementation of the assigned project.

Objective 1: Optimizing the allocated resources to manage the assigned project(s) in targeted location(s) with respect to key metrics such as timeline, risks, objectives, logistics, budget management.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive action plan for project deliverables.
- Allocate resources effectively to meet project requirements.
- Set clear objectives for the project team and provide guidance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Monitor risks and implement contingency plans as necessary.
- Anticipate potential issues affecting project scope, activities, timeline, or budget.
- Coordinate with logistics and finance staff to ensure proper procurement and management of items.
- Oversee project budgets to ensure compliance with financial standards and procedures.
- Plan for a responsible exit strategy for the project.
Objective 2: Develop and maintain appropriate supportive communication and coordination within the project team, related project sectors and with broader relevant stakeholders.
- Establish contacts with organizations for potential collaboration and explore existing project opportunities.
- Build working relationships with other MHPSS actors to ensure project activities are well-coordinated and complementary.
- Maintain information sharing and coordination with national and local authorities for project registration and beneficiary access.
- Support the strengthening of referral pathways for MHPSS services in collaboration with the health cluster and other stakeholders.
- Coordinate project kick-off with relevant departments and hold regular meetings to review progress, identify issues, and make joint decisions.
- Actively participate in coordination mechanisms, represent the MHPSS project in the MHPSS Technical Working Group where relevant and assigned by line manager.
Objective 3: Recruit the project staff, capacitate, and build a high-performing project team, fostering collaborative and motivating work environment.
- Liaise with human resources department for the recruitment, daily management, appraisal etc.... of the assigned project staff.
- Supervise the project team, their day-to-day activities and organize meetings to inform the project team members of the project objectives, workplans, and exchange feedback/feedback.
- Conduct training needs assessment and plan accordingly for enhancement of capacity of the project team members through provision of training, coaching and technical/clinical supervision.
Objective 4: Leads the implementation of quality assurance measures, develop internal and external project reports, and participate in project related assessments and M&E of the project activities.
- Regularly monitor and evaluate project performance to assess progress and identify areas for improvement.
- Contribute to MHPSS needs assessments and adhere to the IASC M&E framework for MHPSS.
- Develop and implement a project M&E plan for ongoing monitoring, data collection, and quality control.
- Ensure thorough documentation of all project activities while maintaining client confidentiality.
- Prepare internal and external reports, including monthly updates and donor submissions.
- Compile lessons learned and best practices, and draft case studies and advocacy notes for community representation.
- Perform any other tasks assigned by the line manager or MHPSS deputy/coordinator.

As applicable to the position, maintains a clear understanding of International Medical Corps and donor compliance and ethics standards and adheres to those standards.
