Job Summary:
The Inclusive Development Advisor will be responsible for integrating inclusive development practices into the Afghanistan Integrated Youth Activity (AIYA). The role involves ensuring that all consortium activities promote equity, inclusion, and empowerment, particularly for marginalized and vulnerable groups.
S/he will provide support to all technical and operational personnel across the consortium, at the design, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and learning stages of the project. S/he will be involved in communication activities, interviewing beneficiaries and documenting the implementation, outcome and impact of AIYA activities among target groups. S/he will also provide guidance on compliance with government decrees and edicts.
The Inclusive Development Advisor will be required to travel frequently to the project's targeted provinces, safety and security permitting.
Job Responsibilities:
Lead the integration of inclusive development practices in annual work plans, programming tools, and monitoring, evaluation and reporting. Provide guidance to technical and operational project personnel and project management on the integration of inclusive development practices throughout the consortium, based on the approved AIYA annual work plans and relevant USAID policies.
Engage in the design and implementation of inclusive development analyses to inform project strategies and ensure effective addressing of disparities. Review completed analyses and advise on how strategies and work plans should be amended to address findings.
Visit the locations of project activities, photograph or video activities under implementation or completed, interview participants on the implementation and impact of each activity, and interview beneficiaries on the impact of support provided. Develop USAID Success Stories and Snapshots reporting on project accomplishments, according to pre-defined templates.
Participate in implementing partner and donor inclusive development working groups, engage regularly with USAID inclusive development counterparts and advise project personnel on the social and economic environment in Afghanistan for vulnerable and marginalized groups. Liaise closely with CARE Afghanistan's gender team and Humanitarian Advocacy personnel.
