Background:
The EPDO is working to empower women through the formation of Saving Groups (SGs) as part of its broader program on financial inclusion and community resilience. To ensure efficient monitoring, reporting, and management of these SHGs, a web-based database is needed. This database will facilitate easy access to data, streamline communication, and enable informed decision-making for the Programme. To support this initiative, we are seeking a Database Consultant with expertise in data management systems, analysis, and database design, specifically in the context of SHGs.
Objective:
- Design and develop a user-friendly web-based database system tailored to the specific needs of SHGs.
- Create a comprehensive database structure to capture essential SHG information, including group profiles, member details, financial transactions, savings, loans, and other relevant data.
- Implement data validation and security measures to ensure data integrity and confidentiality.
- Develop user interfaces and reporting tools to facilitate easy data entry, retrieval, analysis, and visualization.
- Provide training and support to end-users on database usage and maintenance.
Scope of Work:
Needs Assessment and Requirements Gathering:
- Analyse the existing systems of UNDP and suggest integration options (if any)
Database Design and Development:
- Collaborate with UNDP to understand requirements and data specific needs of SHGs.
- Design a robust and scalable database schema to accommodate the growth of Saving Groups and user base.
- Ensure data security and access control mechanisms.
- Create user-friendly interfaces for data entry, search, and reporting.
- Implement data import/export functionalities.
- Integrate data visualization tools for generating reports and dashboards.
Data Migration:
- Migrate existing SHG-related data into the new database system, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
Deliverables:
- A fully functional web-based database system for SHG management.
- User training sessions and materials.
- System documentation, including technical and user manuals.
- Testing and debugging reports.
- A report summarizing the project activities and outcomes.
- Final deployment and handover of the database, including post-launch support.
Capacity Building:
- Conduct training sessions for end-users on database usage and data management and train relevant staff and stakeholders in using the database system, ensuring sustainability and effective use of the platform.
- Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting assistance.
- Develop user manuals and documentation.
Reporting and Supervision:
The consultant will report to the Project Manager and work closely with the SHG Program Team and Monitoring & Evaluation Unit.
Budget and Payment:
The consultant’s fees will be negotiated based on qualifications and experience. Payments will be made based on deliverables, in line with the agreed-upon timeline and scope of work.
Duration:
The consultancy is expected to last 30 working days.
