Objectives of the Assignment
The Hardware Specialist will:
1. Ensure the smooth operation and maintenance of existing hardware systems.
2. Provide timely troubleshooting and resolution for hardware-related issues.
3. Maintain logs and documentation for all repairs and maintenance tasks.
4. Contribute to the organization’s strategic planning for hardware lifecycle management.
Scope of Work
The Hardware Specialist will be responsible for:
1. Hardware Troubleshooting and Maintenance:
- - TaskAlfa, Canon, HP, Sharp, Xerox printers.
- - Dell all-in-one PCs, laptops.
- - Cisco VoIP phones.
- - Dell servers.
2. Support Services:
- - Provide both on-site and remote support for hardware-related issues.
3. Additional Responsibilities:
- - Hardware procurement and inventory management.
- - Training staff on the proper use of hardware.
- - Documenting troubleshooting steps and maintaining logs of all repairs and maintenance.
4. Strategic Involvement:
- - Participate in planning and executing hardware upgrades.
- - Contribute to lifecycle management strategies for hardware assets.
Performance Metrics
The performance of the Hardware Specialist will be evaluated based on:
1. Resolution time for hardware issues.
2. Number of incidents resolved.
3. User satisfaction with the hardware support provided.
4. Overall hardware uptime across the organization.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor degree in Computer Science with Five years of relative experience, Master of Computer Science with three years.
• Required Certifications:
- - CompTIA A+ certification.
• Desired Certifications:
- - Vendor-specific hardware certifications (e.g., Cisco, Dell, Canon).
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Demonstrated experience in hardware troubleshooting, maintenance, and lifecycle management.
Reporting Requirements
The Hardware Specialist will report to the ICT Director.
1. Monthly reports detailing hardware performance, incidents resolved, and maintenance activities.
2. Inventory updates and procurement requirements as necessary.
