Job Descriptions:

Job Summary :

The Vaccinator is responsible for managing and administering vaccines for the targeted age groups of the population, including children and pregnant women, in targeted areas of the targeted province, in accordance with the MoPH guidelines and protocols.

Main responsibilities:

  • The vaccinator will provide regular report of the vaccination and submit to the provincial stakeholders through proper channeled of the organization.

  • The vaccinator will maintain the EPI supply chain management of the vaccines and develop the micro plan for the vaccination program

  • The vaccinator will administer all types of vaccines to target groups including children and women as per the MoPH guidelines at health facility and outreach areas

  • Will develop the micro-plan for administration of the vaccines.

  • Will store, handle and maintain vaccines per National EPI protocols

  • To maintain the cold chain system of the vaccines as per the MoPH/N-EPI guidelines

  • To develop monthly reports of the vaccine program

  • To maintain the HMIS tools of MoPH while administrating the vaccines to the targeted age groups.

  • To do close follow up of the dropout age groups.

  • To have good coordination with local communities, CHWs and FHAGs for finding of absent age groups

  • To impart health education to women while attending health facilities for vaccination services about the importance of vaccines.

  • Perform any other duties assigned by the line manager.

Job Requirements:

Education :

12th class graduate with initial immunization training from MoPH/NEPI; graduation from a recognized intermediate medical institute with an initial immunization certificate will be preferred.

Experience / Skills :

  • Minimum 3 years' experience as vaccinator in BPHS or other health facilities.

  • Preference will be given to local candidates who meet the required criteria and successfully complete the full recruitment process; however, being a local candidate alone does not provide any advantage.
  • Able to prepare, handle, and administer vaccines (oral and injectable).

  • Ensure safe injection practices and prevent needle-stick injuries.

  • Be able to Monitor and maintain vaccine temperatures using thermometers or vaccine carriers.

  • Able to Identify and respond to cold chain breaches.

  • Able to Conduct routine and campaign-based immunization sessions.

  • Able to Educate caregivers and communities on the importance of vaccines.

Languages:

Written and Spoken fluency in Local languages.
