Job Summary
Midwives will be hired for this project to provide quality maternal and newborn care, including antenatal, delivery, postnatal, and family planning services, health and nutrition education, in line with national guidelines and safe motherhood standards.
TOR:
The Midwives will be responsible for the following tasks, including but not limited to:
· Provide Antenatal Care (ANC) and Postnatal Care (PNC) to pregnant and lactating women.
· Conduct routine screenings for pregnancy-related conditions (e.g., anemia, hypertension, infections).
· Educate PLW on Safe delivery practices, Family planning options, Importance of skilled birth attendance
· Provide assistance during labor and delivery, including monitoring of labor progress
· Identify and manage or refer obstetric complications in a timely manner.
· Monitor the health of newborns post-delivery.
· Educate mothers on postpartum care, including breastfeeding techniques.
· Provide Infant and Young Child Feeding (IYCF) counseling.
· Educate PLW on Nutrition and hygiene, Infection prevention, Vaccination awareness
· Ensure accurate documentation of all maternal and child health services provided.
· Follow strict Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) protocols during maternal care services.
· Promote maternal and child health awareness through outreach and counseling.
· Any other activities as related to the position or assigned by the supervisor
