Responsibilities and particular assignments
General responsibilities
The Community Mobilizer will take part in the implementation, supervision, monitoring and planning of the community based activities under the ECHO funded Emergency Project in Nangarhar province.
S/He will be responsible for the community mobilization and community awareness regarding to the implementation of MHTs activities in the selected areas of the projects.
Job responsibilities, Duties and Tasks:
Objective 1: Beneficiary targeting
- She/he visits communities (IDPs and host community) for awareness raising regarding to the available services in MHTs.
- Mobilize community to change behaviour regarding hygienic practice
- S/He actively participates in the defaulter tracing of malnutrition, MCH and vaccination in collaboration with technical project staff.
- S/He creates linkages between PU-AMI and host communities (elders / CDCs,VHC and LHCs), identifies leaders of the displaced / returnees community and ensures proper communication is done throughout the project implementation
- S/He explains beneficiary targeting method and criteria and ensures it is understood and accepted by the communities of the areas of intervention;
- S/He participates actively to the development of final and accurate beneficiary/ household lists with special attention paid to the number of under five children and PLWs.
- S/He actively participates in the implementation of KAP survey in the MHTs catchment areas.
- He/ she has to find and facility for the nutrition educator and screener
- Identifying the houses with the community elders for the awareness
- Sharing of the defaulter list with the community elders
Objective 2: NFI and Hygiene kits distribution
- S/He participates in the development of comprehensive distribution tools and guidance
- S/He takes part in the planning of Hygiene kit distribution
- S/He ensures that information regarding to the use of hygiene kit is properly shared with the eligible community groups.
- S/He acts as liaison between communities targeted or not by the hygiene kits and PU-AMI and informs the MHTs director and line supervisors for any security risks identified compromising the intervention;
- Under line manager and logistics supervision, s/he organizes and supervises the intervention sites and ensures every site is completed with the highest standards of safety and eligibility.
- S/He participates actively in the organization of trainings and health education sessions as required.
- S/He ensures that the information regarding to the use of cash for referral is properly shared with the eligible community groups.
- S/He increase community awareness regarding health, nutrition and WASH
Objective 3: Monitoring and reporting
- S/He acts as the first level of accountability mechanism with communities;
- S/He organizes meetings with local leaders, beneficiaries, collects their feedback and reports complaints to the line supervisor and the PM;
- S/He follows the cash distribution at community level.
- S/He Registering and reporting all activities done at the community level including number of training sessions conducted.
- S/He facilitate the implementation of the post-distribution monitoring and satisfaction surveys and verifies the proper usage of items distributed;
- S/He is responsible for providing all his activities reports and information to his line supervisor and the PM.
Due to the specific nature of PU-AMI activities and to the responsibilities of the employee, the employee might be required to stay at the organization’s disposal for any extra duties related to the work.
