Job Summary:
Afghanistan faces severe climate vulnerability due to a combination of environmental and socio-political factors. Recurring climate-induced disasters, particularly droughts and floods have significantly undermined food security and rural livelihoods. Projections point to a future with rising temperatures, declining rainfall, and more frequent extreme weather events. These impacts are compounded by decades of conflict, which have weakened the population's adaptive capacity. The influx of returnees from Pakistan and nowadays from Iran has, and will continue to have further strained natural resources, intensifying conflicts over land and water access and deepening existing social divides
Community Mobilizer plays a key role in engaging communities, building trust, and facilitating the implementation of project activities. The role involves mobilizing community members, identifying their needs, fostering collaboration, and ensuring their active participation in project activities for sustainable outcomes.
Responsibilities and Tasks :
- Build strong relationships with local communities, leaders, and stakeholders.
- Conduct awareness sessions to inform community members about the project's goals and activities.
- Mobilize community members for participation in meetings, training sessions, and project interventions.
- The conduct community needs assessments and surveys to gather relevant data.
- Collect feedback from beneficiaries and stakeholders to ensure the project aligns with community priorities.
- Organize and facilitate community meetings and discussions.
- Coordinate with local authorities, NGOs, and other stakeholders to support project implementation.
- Act as a liaison between the organization and the community, ensuring smooth communication
- Monitor community participation and the impact of project activities.
- Prepare and submit regular reports, documenting activities, challenges, and success stories.
- Identify risks or conflicts and propose solutions to the management team.
- Train and support community volunteers and groups to take ownership of project activities.
- Promote sustainability by encouraging community-led initiatives.
- Promote Inclusion and Equity:
- Ensure that all community members, including women, youth, and marginalized groups, are included in project activities.
- Support the district officer in the establishment of CBDMC (Community-Based Disaster Risk Management)
- Support the district Officer for the establishment of the WMC, Watershed Management Community in the watershed area,
Maintain the timesheet for the daily wages of workers on the Watershed areas,
