The Community Mobilizer, under the supervision of the Project Manager/Field Officer, is responsible for supporting the effective implementation of community-based project activities at the field level. The Community Mobilizer will work closely with target communities and vulnerable households to facilitate participation in project activities, including but not limited to livelihood and Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) interventions, wheat seed cultivation, kitchen gardening, greenhouse management, and animal feed utilization.
The Community Mobilizer will play a key role in mobilizing community members, conducting awareness sessions, and providing door-to-door guidance and training, particularly to women and to individuals who are unable to attend community gatherings. They will ensure that project information is clearly communicated and that community feedback and concerns are shared with the project team.
Job Description:
The Community Mobilizer is responsible for supporting the implementation of assigned project activities at the community level throughout different phases of the project, including community sensitization, beneficiary identification and selection, preparation for activity implementation, support during distributions or trainings, and assistance in project completion activities. During all phases of the project, the Community Mobilizer will ensure effective communication and engagement with community members, particularly vulnerable households and women, to encourage participation in project activities such as livelihood support and Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) initiatives. The Community Mobilizer will also support door-to-door outreach and awareness to ensure that households unable to attend community gatherings receive the necessary information and guidance.
Main Responsibilities:
The Community Mobilizer is responsible for, but not limited to, the following work areas and duties:
- Participate in organizational induction and training sessions to ensure quality implementation of project activities in line with Core Humanitarian Standards (CHS) and project guidelines.
- Ensure full understanding, and ability to communicate, the organization’s Community Feedback and Response Mechanism (CFRM), safeguarding standards, and key project messages to community members.
- Ensure full understanding and compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for beneficiary selection, community communication, and other relevant project procedures.
- Remain informed about field activity plans and follow all relevant security and safety protocols while working in the communities.
- Support community assessments and data collection processes by assisting in household visits, community meetings, and focus group discussions (FGDs) to ensure accurate and reliable information.
- Work closely with community leaders, community structures, and beneficiary selection committees to ensure transparency, participation, and community acceptance of project activities.
- Provide door-to-door training and guidance to elderly individuals, persons with disabilities, and women who are unable to participate in community meetings or group training sessions.
- Agriculture and livelihood activity support responsibilities (wheat seeds, kitchen garden, greenhouse).
- Conduct house-to-house visits, community meetings, and awareness sessions to identify eligible beneficiaries and to inform communities about project activities.
- Maintain confidentiality of personal data and beneficiary information in accordance with organizational policies and data protection standards.
- Support the Project Manager/Field Officer in communicating with selected beneficiaries to ensure they clearly understand the project assistance, participation requirements, and schedules.
- Assist in organizing community gatherings, training sessions, and awareness activities related to livelihood interventions and Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR).
- Support project teams during distribution or activity implementation by assisting beneficiaries, guiding community members, and ensuring orderly participation.
- Report any challenges, community concerns, or operational issues to the Project Manager/Field Officer in a timely manner.
- Ensure all assigned documentation and reports are completed accurately and submitted on time.
