Job Descriptions:

The data collectors will be responsible for data collection and house-to-house assessments for beneficiary selection. The short-term assignment will be undertaken together in consultation with the designated M&E officer and project team in the field.

Responsibilities:

Conduct data collection and house to house assessment as per AWEC’s standard MEAL tools and techniques.

Collect quantitative and qualitative data from beneficiaries using approved questionnaires and tools (paper-based or digital).

Ensure accuracy, completeness, and confidentiality of collected data.

Follow data collection methodologies, guidelines, and ethical standards set by the M&E team.

Participate in training sessions related to data collection tools and methodologies.

Submit completed questionnaires and reports on time to the M&E officer or assigned supervisor.

Report any challenges, inconsistencies, or field issues during data collection.

Coordinate with field teams and community representatives to facilitate smooth data collection.

Respect cultural sensitivities and ensure respectful interaction with beneficiaries.

Job Requirements:

Education And Experience:

A minimum of high school graduation; bachelor’s degree in social sciences, statistics, development studies, or a related field is an advantage.

A Minimum of 2 years of experience in data collection, surveys, or field monitoring (experience in humanitarian or NGO projects preferred).

Previous experience in PDM, assessments, or evaluations, prefferably working with returnees or vulnerable communities is advantage.

Knowledge and Skills:

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to collect accurate data and follow instructions carefully.

Basic knowledge of data collection tools (Kobo, ODK, or similar) is an advantage.

Ability to work independently and under pressure in field conditions.

Fluency in local languages (Dari and/or Pashto); basic English is an asset.

Strong sense of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
