Job Descriptions:

The Teacher at Rupani Academy International plays a pivotal role in creating an engaging, inclusive, and safe learning environment that nurtures students’ academic, social, emotional, and ethical development. The teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction aligned with the school’s curriculum framework and vision, using innovative and child-centered pedagogical approaches.

Key Responsibilities

1. Teaching & Learning

  • Plan and deliver interactive, child-centered, activity-based lessons aligned with the curriculum.
  • Implement inquiry-based learning strategies to promote curiosity, critical thinking, and creativity.
  • Integrate Afghanistan’s cultural values and norms into teaching practices and classroom environment.
  • Ensure mastery of government-mandated subjects alongside complementary interdisciplinary topics.
  • Use differentiated instructions to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
  • Incorporate 21st-century skills including communication, collaboration, digital literacy, and problem-solving, into daily classroom activities.

2. Classroom Management & Environment

  • Maintain a safe, nurturing, inclusive, and respectful learning environment.
  • Establish clear routines and expectations that support positive discipline.
  • Promote a classroom culture that promotes ethical values, empathy, and mutual respect.

3. Student Assessment & Progress Monitoring

  • Develop and administer age-appropriate assessments (formative and summative).
  • Track, document, and report student progress using the school’s monitoring and evaluation systems.
  • Provide timely, constructive feedback to students and parents.
  • Identify students requiring additional support and coordinate interventions as needed.

4. Family & Community Engagement

  • Build strong relationships with parents through regular communication and scheduled meetings.
  • Involve families and communities in school events, learning activities, and cultural programs.

5. Professional Development & Collaboration

  • Participate actively in continuous professional development, training workshops, and peer-learning sessions.
  • Collaborate with fellow teachers, coordinators, and school leadership to enhance instructional quality.
  • Engage in curriculum development, lesson planning, and school improvement initiatives.

6. School Governance & Compliance

  • Adhere to school policies, code of conduct, safeguarding protocols, and confidentiality rules.
  • Support the implementation of quality assurance systems and uphold academic standards.
  • Contribute to a positive and professional school culture aligned with RDI’s mission and values.
Job Requirements:

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Early Childhood Education, or a relevant subject field (required).
  • Professional teaching certification or diploma (preferred).

Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of teaching experience, preferably in early years or primary grades.
  • Experience with activity-based, inquiry-driven, or international-standard teaching methodologies (advantageous).
