Together, RAADA and Vento di Terra have joined forces to implement the Emergency Project for Earthquake-Affected People in Dara-e-Noor District of Nanagarhar Province and Sawkai District of Kunar Province, funded by AICS. This collaborative initiative aims to support vulnerable families in Dara-e-Noor District of Nanagarhar Province and Sawkai District of Kunar Province by enhancing food security, promoting sustainable agriculture and livestock practices, and strengthening community resilience to natural disasters. Through this project, the two organizations bring complementary expertise to create lasting change for the people of Nanagarhar & Kunar.

Job Description:

We are looking for a motivated and hardworking Field Operators to provide on-site assistance and support across Dara-e-noor and Sawkai districts of Nangarhar and Kunar provinces. This role involves traveling to the five villages of the mentioned two districts, conducting surveys and beneficiaries’ selection, coordinating, assisting the project team with the implementation of WASH, livestock, and agricultural activities, project daily operations, and ensuring the smooth implementation of the related activities. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of local farming and livestock conditions, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently in the field.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ability to travel across the five villages of each district (Dara-e-Noor District: Sootan, Utran, Machgandol, Lewatak, Chewal | Sawkai district: Andarlachak, Sepero, Piran, Gagezu, Dewagal Valley)
  • Assist the project team with surveys and beneficiary selection tasks.
  • Assist the team with the distribution and on field facilitation operations.
  • Summary of Job purpose:

    The Field Operators are responsible for supporting earthquake affected population through direct field assistance, training sessions, and ongoing technical support in the WASH, Agriculture, and emergency activities. The operator will play a key role in community engagement and mobilization at the village level.

    Job Description:

The ideal candidate will have a strong, in depth understanding of area conditions and situation, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work as part of the team on the field.

    Key Responsibilities:

  • Travel to all districts of Provinces to provide hands-on support for activities implementation.
  • Assist the project team with surveys and beneficiary selection tasks.
  • Collect and report data on activities in each district.
  • Coordination with local communities, government agencies, and local stakeholders.
  • Conduct regular field visits to assigned villages and communities.
  • Assist in the distribution of the inputs (livestock, seeds, tools, etc.) and livestock support items (feed, medicine, etc.).
  • Support in organizing and conducting awareness sessions and practical demonstrations for rural beneficiaries.
  • Monitor the use of distributed items and provide follow-up support.
  • Maintain close coordination with community elders, CDCs, and local authorities.
  • Prepare timely and accurate reports on activities, challenges, and field observations.
  • Identify vulnerable households eligible for support and assist in the beneficiary selection process.
  • Report any livestock disease outbreaks or farming issues to the relevant technical team.
  • Ensure compliance with project guidelines, beneficiary selection criteria, and safeguarding principles.

Job Requirements:
  • University graduates will be given priority.
  • Fluent in local languages (Dari and Pashto)
  • At least 3 years of working experience in a similar position in a national or international NGO
  • Excellent understanding of local context, needs, and challenges of the local communities
  • Effective member of the team and role model; demonstrates creativity in seeking better ways to do things and shares with the team, and promotes high standards
  • Ability to travel extensively across the five villages of each district (Dara-e-Noor District: Sootan, Utran, Machgandol, Lewatak, Chewal | Sawkai district: Andarlachak, Sepero, Piran, Gagezu, Dewagal Valley)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with diverse communities
  • Successfully manages conflicting debates in the community
  • Ability to facilitate workshops and gatherings to reach its required outputs
  • Ability to work with Kobo data collection applications and to keep records and report data
