Job Purpose:
The purpose of support staff role is to ensure the effective management and maintenance of Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) facilities at the Reception Center in Kandahar. The WASH Support Staff is responsible for maintaining cleanliness, ensuring safe water access, overseeing sanitation systems, and promoting hygiene practices among returnees and staff. This position plays a vital role in safeguarding public health, enhancing living conditions, and supporting the overall functionality of the reception center.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily cleaning of washrooms, bathrooms, and common areas In the office and reception center.
- Disinfect the offices and washrooms and other necessary area surfaces regularly to prevent the spread of disease.
- Ensure waste bins are emptied and cleaned appropriately.
- Check and report any plumbing issues (leaks, blockages, broken fixtures).
- Ensure toilets, showers, and sinks are functioning properly.
- Refill toilet paper, soap, and other hygiene supplies as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness and functionality of handwashing stations.
- Ensure continuous availability of soap and water.
- Check water tanks and supply systems daily to ensure adequate water availability.
- Report any water shortages or supply issues immediately.
- Assist in displaying hygiene awareness posters and materials.
- Assist with minor repairs or report them to maintenance staff.
- Any other task proposed by the line manager

The sharing of data of any type of anyone associated to Afghanistan Development National Organization (Beneficiary detail, survey, assessment, reports, internal matters, confidential documents, etc. is prohibited and will require senior management approval to make sure the sharing is in line with Do NO HARM principles, DSP and Afghanistan Development National Organization data sharing policy
